Who we are
Card Portal is run by Ross Gray, a sole trader trading as Ross Gray Digital, in the United Kingdom. "We" and "us" mean Ross Gray Digital.

Agreeing to these terms
When you tick the box to sign up or use an invitation, you confirm you are 16 or older, agree to these Terms of Use and confirm you have read our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Card Portal.
Who can use Card Portal
- You must be 16 or older.
- One account per person.
- Use an email address that is yours and that you can read. Don't make an account with someone else's email address.
Getting an account
Sign-up may be by invitation only. An invitation is just for you: it works once, only with the email address it was sent to, and runs out after 7 days.
Card Portal is free. We may change or limit features at any time. If we decide to stop running Card Portal, see "Ending your account" below.
Your account
- Keep your password safe. You can also turn on two-factor authentication (2FA) and add passkeys.
- You are responsible for what happens on your account.
- Tell us straight away if you think someone else is using it.
When these terms change
When we make an important change to these terms, we ask you to accept the new version the next time you sign in. That page shows the date your account will be deleted if you don't accept. We tell you about changes to the Privacy Policy as it describes.
If you don't accept within 60 days of first being shown the new version, we delete your account. We always email you a warning at least 7 days before. Days here are calendar days, counted from the day you are first shown the new version. Instead of accepting, you can download your data or delete your account yourself.
What you can't do
Don't use Card Portal to:
- post anything illegal;
- bully, harass or threaten anyone, or post hateful content;
- upload sexual or violent images;
- pretend to be someone else;
- share other people's personal details;
- spam;
- upload viruses or harmful code;
- copy data from the site in bulk, or try to find people's profiles you aren't meant to see;
- test, attack or overload the site;
- get round rate limits, suspensions or the invitation system;
- send false or abusive reports.
Deck links must go to a deck-building site, such as Moxfield or Archidekt. The app only accepts new links to the sites we list. We can remove a link that doesn't fit this rule.
Your content
"Your content" means anything you add to Card Portal: deck names, lists and descriptions, your bio, game notes, ban reasons, group and achievement details, and images. You own it.
So we can run Card Portal, you give us permission to store, show and copy your content inside the app, including showing it to the people who can see it. This permission is worldwide and free. It isn't exclusive, so you can still use your content however you like. It ends when you delete the content or your account, except for:
- games and card bans that stay in your groups' history (see "Groups" below); and
- copies of the database we make before a big update, which we delete within 7 days. These aren't backups (see "No promises").
We will never sell your content or let others use it.
You must own what you upload, or have permission to use it.
Think before you type someone's name, or anything else about them, into a game note, ban reason or description. A group's games and bans stay after people leave or delete their accounts, and so does what was typed in them. If someone asks us to, we will remove or change it within one month. The Privacy Policy explains why we keep group history and how to ask.
Who sees what
Your profile and decks are only seen by you, your friends, and members of groups you are both in. Group content is only seen by members of that group. Uploaded images can be opened by anyone who has their web address. The Privacy Policy has the details.
Groups
The person who creates a group owns it. Group owners and admins can:
- invite friends to the group;
- remove members;
- make other members admins, or stop them being admins;
- change the group's name, description and banner;
- edit or delete games;
- manage the group's card bans and achievements;
- remove the group's banner and achievement images;
- edit the decks of members who have turned that on;
- delete the group. This permanently deletes its games, bans and achievements for every member, and can't be undone.
Any member can log a game, and the game records the other players in it.
Games belong to the group's shared history. If you leave a group or delete your account, games you played stay in the group, shown as "Deleted user" if your account is gone. They are deleted only if a group admin deletes the game or the whole group.
If a group's owner deletes their account:
- if nobody else is in the group, the group is deleted;
- if the group has another admin, the owner chooses which admin takes over before their account is deleted;
- otherwise, or if the account is deleted automatically, the members have 7 days to vote for a new owner.
Reporting problems
- Use the report button next to an image to report it.
- Use the bug and suggestion form to tell us about problems.
- For anything else, email support@cardportal.online.
What we can do
To keep Card Portal safe, we can remove content and images, close reports, suspend accounts, and change or delete groups. We will only do this when we reasonably need to: to protect people, to protect Card Portal, because these terms have been broken, or to follow the law. We usually tell you first. We may act without warning when waiting would put people or Card Portal at risk, or when the law requires it.
If your account is suspended you can still download your data and delete your account.
If you think we got it wrong, email support@cardportal.online and we will look again.
Card names, images and other people's work
The app, its design and its logo belong to Ross Gray Digital.
Card Portal is unofficial Fan Content permitted under the Fan Content Policy. Not approved/endorsed by Wizards. Portions of the materials used are property of Wizards of the Coast. ©Wizards of the Coast LLC.
Card data and images come from Scryfall. Card Portal is not connected to Scryfall. Card data can be wrong, or late to catch up with changes, such as a card being banned in a format.
Format checks on your decks are only a guide. They aren't official rulings from Wizards of the Coast or anyone else, and they never stop you saving a deck. If it matters, such as at an event, check the official rules.
Links to other sites, such as deck links and Scryfall, go to sites we don't run. We aren't responsible for them.
No promises
Card Portal is provided "as is", which means as it is, with no guarantees. We don't promise it will always be available, free of mistakes, or that any feature will stay the same. We don't keep backups. The short-term database copies described in "Your content" are made only to protect an update, and we can't restore your data from them on request. Data could be lost if something goes badly wrong.
Our responsibility to you
Card Portal is for personal, hobby use. We aren't responsible for any business losses.
If we break these terms, we are only responsible for loss that was expected: loss that anyone could reasonably have predicted when you started using Card Portal. For example, if we wrongly close your account, it is expected that you can't use your groups until we fix it.
We aren't responsible for loss that was not expected: loss nobody could reasonably have predicted when you started. For example, if you lose money on a paid event you were running with Card Portal, or you miss a game night because the site was down.
Your data can be lost. We don't keep backups. Your decks, games, groups and anything else you add could be deleted or lost because of a mistake or a problem with our server, and we may not be able to get them back. You use Card Portal knowing this, and we aren't responsible for that loss. To keep a copy, use "Download your data" on your profile page from time to time, and keep your deck lists somewhere else too.
Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility where the law doesn't allow it, such as for death or injury caused by our carelessness, or for fraud. Nothing here takes away your legal rights as a consumer.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from your profile page. The Privacy Policy explains what happens to your data. Card bans you proposed stay with your groups when your account is deleted. When you leave a group or delete your account, that group's games and bans show "Former member" or "Deleted user" instead of your name. Names typed into notes, reasons or descriptions aren't removed automatically; the Privacy Policy explains how to ask us to remove them.
We can suspend or close your account if you break these terms (see "What we can do").
If we decide to stop running Card Portal, we will email you and show a notice in the app at least 30 days before, so you can download your data. If we have to stop suddenly for a reason we didn't plan, such as our server failing, we can no longer run it, or the law requires it, we will tell you as soon as we can.
General legal terms
Transfer of these terms. We may transfer Card Portal and these terms to another person or business, for example if we sell it. If we do, we will tell you first, the new operator must keep to these terms and the Privacy Policy, and you can delete your account before the transfer if you don't want to continue. You can't transfer your account or these terms to anyone else.
If part of these terms is invalid. If a court decides that part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
Entire agreement. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Card Portal. Other things we have said, such as posts or messages, don't add to them.
No waiver. If we don't enforce part of these terms straight away, we can still enforce it later.
Your feedback. If you send us ideas or suggestions, through the bug and suggestion form or otherwise, we may use them to improve Card Portal, free and without owing you anything. This doesn't give us any other rights over your content.
The law
These terms are under the law of England and Wales, and claims go to the courts of England and Wales.
If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you keep the protections your local law gives you, and you can also bring a claim in your local courts. If you live in the European Union, you keep the protections your country's law gives you, and you can bring a claim in your country's courts. If you live anywhere else, you keep any protections your local law gives you that a contract can't take away.
